CHEROKEE NATION EMBRACES A CULTURE OF HONOR WITH THE GOLDEN RULE

Dr. Monika Ponton-Arrington the Executive Liaison of Indigenous Affairs for both iChange Nations™ and the Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative to the North American Division, presents the Golden Rule International and Global Leadership Awards to top leaders within the Cherokee Nation.

Award ceremony took place during the 2014 Cherokee National Holiday at the Cherokee Nation Complex located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where Principle Chief Bill Baker received honors as a Goodwill Ambassador with Golden Rule Award.  He also received the Global Leadership Award through iChange Nations™, acknowledging him as a Distinguished Leader from a global perspective.

Ryan Mackey (ᏩᏕ ᎦᎵᏍᎨᏫ) & Dawni Squirrel-Mackey (ᏓᏂ ᏌᎶᎵ), Officers within the Cherokee’s Executive Branch and Cultural Outreach Office both received the Golden Rule Award as citizen role models within the Tribe.

Lastly, Tommy Wildcat walks with honors when he was recognized with the Global Leadership & Golden Rule Award.  He continues with excellence as he carries on the legacy of the Cherokee People as the National Treasure.

Congratulation to the Cherokee People for your great excellence and leadership.
